Cable Street Beat Gütersloh , 10.06.2004 :

The strange world of Cable Street Beat-Strictly Antifascist

On the ninth of june, a combined group of Punks, Skins, Bikers and other militant antifascists "visited" a very well known German fascist leader named Meinolf Schönborn. This guy is active in the fascist scene since the seventies. He was in a leading position in the traditional fascist party NPD and founded the so called "National Front" in the eighties. This NF had an appearance like the SA "storm troopers" and should recruit and organize fascist boneheads.

They even had a sort of "youth center" in the city of Bielefeld, where they wanted to attract "white trash" youngsters using fascist "OI!", helping german (!) pupils doing homework, teaching them in martial arts to fight immigrants and so on.

We, real skins and punks, fought against him and his fascist projects as long as we are able to think.

The boneheads agressed us, we fought back, and one time schönborn himself beat someone of us up, he was accused and found guilty. A few years later he was sentenced to jail because of continuing the fascist NF, after this organization had been banned by the german state.

It is a fact, that the NF had several members who burnt down houses or killed mainly immigrants in other ways. Schönborn himself had contact to Naumann, a nazi-"Bomb Builder". Together with him Schönborn led the police to hidden dynamite and weapons. We do not really know, why they did this.

Antifascist resistance forced Schönborn and the rest of his scum, to move from place to place, until he ended up in Denmark, near the boarder, because in this country there were no laws against fascist activities.

But there he was attacked by normal "man and women on the street" because the neighbors remembered the times of War, resistance and german occupation very well. They burned their fascist propaganda material and threw them out of Denmark.

Back in Germany, he was arrested.

Having left jail, he built up the fascist "Z-versand", selling cd`s of bands like "Screvdriver, Landser, No remorse, Brutal attack", reprints of historical Nazi propaganda posters, "Hitler speeches" and coffe-cups with the ugly face of Rudolf Heß (2. man behind Hitler in the NSDAP) on it.

His newest project now was doing a public shop named "Meniha", in which he only sells viking, celtic, german ornaments, rings, t-shirts, cow-horns to drink Met out(archaic german ale), but also runes and other things. These things are interesting for medivial and "lord of the rings" or "Harry potter" fans, Gothics, Waves, Pagans, Skins, Heavy Metals, Bikers, role-players and so on. In this shop he sells nothing fascist, but he tries to make contacts with this group to get them into the fascist scene. If you buy celtics there, you support fascist propaganda. You give money to the fascists, without knowing what you do.

The location of Meniha is perfect to do this, because it is directly at one of the biggest bikers meeting point in Germany called the "Brocker Mühle" near Gütersloh. Thousends of bikers meet there every wednesday, and Schönborn is the only one who runs a shop there, besides Beer tents and a grill. And- nobody knew him there

So cable street beat-strictly antifascist formed a historic coalition out of bikers, punks and skins and antifascist friends to spoil the fascist show. This time the Lambrettas and Vespas stayed at home, and Harleys and Triumphs took their place. We have to admit, that these are not really the traditional vehicles for punks and skins.

But- if you talk about fascists, these "cult" differences do not matter for us.

Fascists are the enemies of Punks, skins, bikers, Immigrants, shop keepers or waitresses, homeless, working class, hooligans or what else.

So we went there, informed thousends of bikers about "comrade Schönborn", through holding speeches, shouting at him, giving leaflets to the people and discussing with the audience.

We did not know, whether it was dangerous doing this, because there are several bike clubs on the field. We did not know, how they would react. Maybe they judged als as „gang rivals“ and wanted to fight us? No, they were friendly and shared our attitude towards fascist.

In one way we are all "city indians", we want to have our own rules and we want freedom of speech.

And we want to be free to follow our own lifestyle. It is far more than fashion, it is "a way of life"!

This action was very successfull, there was "united anger" against Schönborn and Meniha.

"If the kids are united, they will never be divided ... !" (Although the kids were very old that day!)

And again, the german political police tries to criminalize this action, they accuse the activists of something like conspiracy, because we did not inform them before ...

How could we, at that morning we did not have the plan, we just did it ...

And even if we had had the plan, I do not think, we would have informed them before ... Why should we?

This is a free country, or isn`t it? Do we have to ask, to do an antifascist action?

We did not and we will not ask anybody! We are

Cable street beat-strictly antifascist

Fight fascism, have fun

Cheers and OI!
